ScriptDev2 Build issue
Post: #1
Hello, short time reader, first time poster.
I found CMangos through this forum post which I've had some success at following. It does leave me with a question though.

When I clone the core as it suggests, I getmangosdVC120 andmangosdVC140.
When I clone the scripts, I getscriptVC100,scriptVC110, andscriptVC120.

Could I successfully build scriptVC120 after building mangosdVC140?

Seems likely that's not the reason I'm encountering this build issue though:

Code:
1>------ Build started: Project: ScriptDev2, Configuration: Release x64 ------
1> Extracting revision
1> The system cannot find the path specified.
1>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\V140\Microsoft.CppCommon.targets(171,5): error MSB6006: "cmd.exe" exited with code 3.
========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========

I've looked around the forums and haven't found any resolutions to this issue that I could understand. If someone would point me in the right direction I'd be quite appreciative. I have at least successfully built mangosdVC120 though it took me a while to figure out the few problems I had there (didn't have Boost installed, and blindly followed that tutorial I posted above without taking into consideration that I'm running an x64 machine).

Kindest Regards,
Wyatt

If I am reading what you wrote correctly, you do not have to download ScriptDev2. It has been integrated with the core back in November of last year. You just need to compile CMaNGOS. You should find in your clone directory a folder /mangos/sql/scriptdev2. In it is a sql script/query file for scriptdev2.

That post is horribly outdated, since then boost library has been added to dependencies. Plus what adellaci said.

Note there are releases of pre-compiled binaries for classic, tbc and wotlk. If you use those you just have to do the DB setup and map extraction steps from the official Installation-Instructions. You can find them on the project wiki. On the Home page of the wiki or when you click on "Complete List" at the top left right of this forum, you will find a list of other helpful links.

That's awesome news about the pre-compiled binaries; I've got the database set up I think though I'll verify with the project wiki. Thanks to you both for pointing me in the right direction!
